1996 US county police interrogation tape, recovered VHS archive footage, 4:3. Heavy analogue video artefacts: chroma bleed, scan lines, tracking noise at the frame edges, slight vertical jitter, colour desaturated toward green. Single fixed ceiling-corner camera, wide angle. The camera is locked off: absolutely no pan, no tilt, no zoom, no dolly, no handheld drift, no focus pull. Harsh overhead fluorescent light. Small windowless room: cinderblock wall painted institutional beige, a scuffed metal table bolted to the floor, two chairs, a reel-to-reel tape recorder at the edge of frame with its reels slowly turning. THE ROOM IS EMPTY: no people at all, nobody enters, nobody leaves. The empty chair on the far side of the table. Nothing happens for the entire shot except the faint flicker of the fluorescent tube and the turning reels. No text anywhere in frame. No dialogue, no music, silent. It must look recorded, not filmed.
