It trotted to the middle of my living room, sat down, and meowed exactly twice — long, slow meows — then bolted into my bedroom. I followed, but the room was empty. Windows locked. No sign of the cat. I barely slept. The next day, my neighbor asked, “Did you hear about Mrs. Grant in 4B? Passed away last night. Her cat’s missing.” Chills. I showed her my security camera footage… but there was no cat. Just me, opening the door to… nothing. That night, at 2 AM, I heard the same knock. Two meows.
