🐪 Animals of Kazakhstan Kazakhstan is a large and beautiful country with many amazing animals. One of them even appears on the flag — it’s the eagle, a strong and proud bird that symbolizes freedom. In our country, we can also find some very big and unusual animals. For example, the grey monitor lizard is one of the biggest lizards in the world. It can grow up to three metres long! When we talk about animals in Kazakhstan, we can’t forget our lovely pets. The most popular pets here are cats. They are friendly and easy to keep at home. In the wild, some animals are really special. The Karakurt spider has eight legs, and the snow leopard is one of the most beautiful animals in the mountains. Sadly, there are only about 8,000 snow leopards left in the world. Another famous Kazakh animal is the camel, often called the “ship of the desert.” Camels can survive for about six months without water! They are very useful for people living in dry areas. Some animals look small but are dangerous. For example, the snake is smaller than a fox but much more dangerous. Near the Caspian Sea lives the Caspian seal, which is bigger and heavier than a female seal — it can weigh about 30 kilograms. And of course, every Kazakh knows the name of the horse called Taiburyl, the legendary horse of Koblandy Batyr. Horses are an important part of our culture and history. Animals make Kazakhstan a wonderful and interesting place to live!
