Michael Jackson's "Moonwalk" is a backwards gliding technique that mimics walking forward, with one foot remaining in place and the other sliding backward, then switching places. This creates the illusion of floating, with the dancer adding additional shoulder and head movement to enhance the movement. Step-by-step instructions: 1. The android cat stands upright, with one foot slightly forward. 2. The android cat shifts its weight to its front foot, planting it flat on its heel while its back foot rests on its toes. 3. The front foot remains in place, while the back foot slides backward. The back foot should glide easily across the floor, creating a fluid motion. 4. The android cat finds itself in a new position, with its back leg now forward and its front (sliding) leg behind, standing on its toes. 5. The steps are repeated, switching legs to continue the backward movement. 6. To add more expression to the movement, the android cat adds shoulder and head movements, synchronizing them with the rhythm of the music.
